SNOW TUBING

I been out with friends last Saturday, February 1st. We been to Mont Gleason for a slide. It was my first winter activity for this year and I really had a great time. The weather was so nice too. Too bad that we only enjoyed for 2 hours. One of my friends came late because her daughter had a ballet lesson and we need to wait for them. 

After the slide, we been to Lac Nicolet for supper at my new found friend's place. It was a 45 mins drive but it worth to go. The place has a million dollar view. It was my first time to be there and they told me that summer time in that place is a paradise. Oh I'm looking forward to see the place this summer as her husband was inviting us again this summer.

Back to winter activity, we will be going back for a ski or tubing this coming Feb 15 and this time, we will be inviting more friends and it will be more fun, for sure. I just hope that hubby will come with me. There will be a hockey tournament at the same day and he wanted to go to the tournament. He still don't know now if it will be tournament or tubing.

CASINO WITH FRIENDS

Last Saturday I went to Montreal with friends to celebrate the Sinulog. We stayed im the apartment of one of our friends and it was a good timing because another friend that just came from Bohol was there too. We really had a great time that night, eat good pilipino foods and chitchating of course. Late at night , we decided to go to the casino. I spent $20 and I won $9 hehehe. Im not a gambler but I won few times in the casino , just few dollars only :-) 2 of my friends won $80 and $90 , good for them.

We were planning to go to casino next time but just here in Quebec. Hope to win more bucks that is enough to buy a plane ticket to visit my family :-) just wishing. ..

FRIDAY'S NIGHT OUT

Friday night is our Starbuck's night. We always have our supper at the mall and shop if we need to and meet with friends at Starbucks, having our favorite coffee while chitchating.

We arrived at Starbucks too soon so hubby and I were facebooking while waiting for them. I'm so glad that the iPad mini that I gave him is very useful. He can play or browse in the net if he's tired of listening to our chichat ;-)

FRIEND'S CHALET

My friend invited us to their new build chalet last weekend. We drove 1 and a half hour to reach the place. Going there is a little bit complicated because the place is still new and the GPS can't find it. They gave us the instruction on how to reach the place but still we got lost and the worst is, my phone don't have signal in the area. Good thing that my friend's phone that was with us was working and we were able to call my friend and finally, we found the right road.

As usual, she prepared lots of yummy foods that I think, it's good for 20 person :-) and we were only 8. 

I felt so bad for myself because I did cheat for my diet for 2 days ( I always have 1 day cheating day for a week) and blame it to her :-)

The crispy pata was really crispy and yummy. This broke my diet. I ate a lot of this crispy pata dipped with sukang pinakurat (fermented vinegar from Philippines) Oh boy, that was really good.

And finally, the dessert. This is the only thing that I'm proud of myself. I didn't eat the dessert because I was so guilty that I did cheat twice. Temptation was very close but I was able to stop.

MY BASEMENT TURNS TO DISCO BAR

One of my favorite place in our house is the basement. On the very first day I step in this house, I don't know why, I already fall in love in the place. It was just a simple basement with lots of storage room and carpeted floor. I installed my little office there (though we have one upstair) where I can study when I was still taking my french course. Then I started to change the arrangement and install my home theater. I started to invite friends and did karaoke. Hubby found it interesting that made him decide to renovate the basement. It took us almost a year to finish renovating. Hubby did the work by himself. He took out the storage room and converted to a bar, took out the carpet and change the wall. I really love my new basement that I call it "my hiding place". We already had few parties here but the most enjoyable party we had was last saturday during hubby's birthday. We're only 9 person but we really had fun. Too much is crowded...that what happened on my last birthday. We had 27 visitors plus me and hubby. We were able to accommodate all of them. It was a nice party but with not too much guest is better. We had karaoke and everybody was able to sing without a long waiting. 

But the best part of the night was the lighting:-) My hiding place turned to a disco bar for the night :-) As you can see in the ceiling, it's a sound synchronize colorful light. I really like it and I'm looking forward to the next party.

GET TOGETHER

I posted in Gagiers Amazing World blog that we been skiing last weekend with my friends. We really had so much fun in our 1 day activity. Skiing in the day and party in the night. My friend's hubby was celebrating his 53rd birthday and my friend gave him a suprise party. It was really a blast.

She cooked lots of pilipino foods and the night will not be complete without karaoke :-)..singing, dancing, eating, laughing ..that's all we did the whole night. It was really a tiring day but full of fun. We arrived home 1:30 in the morning.

The next day? I stayed in the house the whole day because I was sick :-( but I never had a regret of going out the day before.

LUNCH DATE AT SUSHI BAR

Yes, it's true. My friend treat me to the sushi bar because I help here picking up all her stuff from her old house. She has small car so I offer her to use our Honda CR-V. So we drove 1 hour to her old house and this time, I took the highway (freeway) so that we will arrive here very soon for lunch. She was very happy and it's a big help for her also.

After our lunch, I drove here in the entire city for her to familiarize the place. She lives close to where I live. We really had a great time today.

Next week, I will drive her and her sister around the city. I never meet her sister yet and I'm so excited to see her in person.

LATINA FRIEND

When I took my French course 4 years ago, majority of my classmates were Latin. They come from different countries that speak Spanish. At first I felt annoyed because they always spoke Spanish and I can’t talk with them because I don’t understand what were they talking about. But as time goes on, I started to understand their language because they had patience in teaching me and with other student that don’t speak Spanish. I was learning two languages at the same time, French and Spanish. I made good friends with 3 couples and even after the course, we still have good communication. We used to go out together or visit here in our house and have dinner together. On that time, I practice my Spanish with them and they practice their French with my hubby. But now, I can’t take to them often because one move to Calgary and the other couple move to Granby and the other one stayed here but I lost communication with the one that stayed here. The other 2 couples we still have communication but only emails because they both busy with their work. They work very hard because they both house and they need to have more income to pay their mortgage. It’s really hard to contact them because we don’t have the same available time. One time we talked in the phone and I told them how I missed them and how I miss talking Spanish. They introduce me to Latina chat so that I can practice my Spanish. I tried it and they are right. I found few good friends online and they are so nice to teach me Spanish and talk with me in their language. Now I started to talk Spanish with them too.

ONLINE FRIENDS

Before I arrive here in Canada, I check with my hubby if he knew somebody from Asia particularly in the country where I came from. He said that he has a co-worker that married with a Filipina too. I was so happy knowing that I have a Filipina neighbour here. When I arrived here I met with this Filipina and we became friend. But her time is so limited until now because she’s working and she doesn’t have much time to go out with me or even talk in the telephone. I felt so lonely on that time especially that hubby was working and I left here in the house alone. Good thing that I have computer that I considered as my best friend. I started surfing on where I can chat with Asian people. I joined the Asian chat room and I was so happy because I found lots of friends online that I can talk to everytime I’m alone in the house. I found few good friends that we keep on contacting each other until now and I even met some of them in person. I’m so thankful that I found them here online.

SPENDING THE NIGHT WITH FRIENDS

As I said in my other blog GAGIERS AMAZING WORLD, I spent my night last night at my friend's appartment together with other friends. We all live in the same area but it's really hard for us to see each other because 2 of them are busy with their work and the other one just gave birth for the first time so she spend all her time to her baby boy. And me? I'm busy for nothing he he he.
We decided to spend the night together with no husbands and baby. We're only four but we really had a great time. I brought by magic sing so we enjoy singing the whole night and drink a lot he he he.

LUNCH DATE

It's always nice to be with our friends especially if we are from the same country. We can talk with our native language and eat pilipino food. We had our lunch at my friend's house this today. We live in the same city close to each other. We decided to have this lunch because we can't do this anymore before new year. We are all loaded with parties with friends and family of our husbands. This is the only day that we are all free. No husband and just one baby because he's still too young to be left alone he he he.

Anyway, we had a great time talking to each other and we ate a lot. Oh my! I can hardly get up from the chair he he. Good that I'm not driving because I was a little bit tipsy. Hubby pick me up and my friends. Poor hubby, he was our driver he he he.

SHOPPING WITH FRIEND

I finally finished doing all the order of lumpia last night. This is what I'm waiting for :-) We can relax now. Go to wherever we want without rushing ourselves and going out with friends. This morning, we went to the mall in Ste-Foy because hubby wants to have his picture done for his souvenir book. While he's doing his stuff, I went shopping with my friend. We really enjoy in our 3 hours in the mall taking pictures and going around to check some girly stuff he he he. It was snowing hard but it doesn't stop us to enjoy ourselves and not stuck in the house. But when we arrived home, there was a big surprise waiting for us he he he he. It's the driveway with 3 feet of snow. We just park the car in the street and clean the driveway.
