FRIEND'S CHALET

My friend invited us to their new build chalet last weekend. We drove 1 and a half hour to reach the place. Going there is a little bit complicated because the place is still new and the GPS can't find it. They gave us the instruction on how to reach the place but still we got lost and the worst is, my phone don't have signal in the area. Good thing that my friend's phone that was with us was working and we were able to call my friend and finally, we found the right road.

As usual, she prepared lots of yummy foods that I think, it's good for 20 person :-) and we were only 8. 
I felt so bad for myself because I did cheat for my diet for 2 days ( I always have 1 day cheating day for a week) and blame it to her :-)

The crispy pata was really crispy and yummy. This broke my diet. I ate a lot of this crispy pata dipped with sukang pinakurat (fermented vinegar from Philippines) Oh boy, that was really good.

And finally, the dessert. This is the only thing that I'm proud of myself. I didn't eat the dessert because I was so guilty that I did cheat twice. Temptation was very close but I was able to stop.

TREATING MYSELF

I'm trying to lose 20 lbs before our big show for the belly dancing class but I don't think I can make it. The show will be this coming May 22 and it's too late now. I know I can lose 20 lbs but not that soon. I'm still doing my best to lose even a few pounds. I'm doing cardio everyday and do earobics 3 times a week. I'm trying to avoid fats and sweets too but last weekend we been to the resto as we use to do every weekend. Two weeks in a row, I'm only eating whole wheat bread toasted and peanut butter with coffee in the resto but last weekend, I want to treat myself because I can't resist when I saw the menu. I ordered waffle with variety of fruits. Just the two together is not bad at all but with the cream and the chocolate syrups, it has more calories and the sweets is not helping me to lose extra pounds. Well, I been eating low carbs and no sweets for two weeks and I guess I deserve this delicious food.

I just arrived from the gym and I feel too sticky :-) I have to go now and take my show...

CHICKEN LEG WITH MALUNGGAY


I was visiting my friend's appartment 3 weeks ago and they had malunggay as their dinner. Oh my, I ate almost all the soup. I really love it and I missed it so much. I use to ate malunggay in Philippines and it's really good for the health. I ask my friend to buy me some if she will go to Montreal. She brought be 3 pack of malunggay and I cooked one pack tonight. Too bad hubby is not here. I'm sure he will love this too. I ate a lot tonight and I still have some left for tomorrow.

IN THE MOOD OF COOKING

Last week, I was in the mood of cooking. I know I was in a but when I saw the recipe of budbod (a pilipino recipe), I can't stop myself in doing some. I have all the ingredients so I cooked it and i was so happy the result was successful. I called my friend right away and we ate it like a pig he he he he. I'm not really proud of what I did but it's not all the time that I ate like that. Maybe it will take a while before I will do another batch of budbod.


I will try to post the recipe in my other blog very soon.

I LOVE CHOCOLATE

Valentine’s Day is now fast approaching. This is a special day for love and most people give chocolates to their love ones as a symbol of the sweetness of their love. Most of us love to receive chocolates and flowers. For me, I would really love to have chocolates not only on Valentine’s Day but always because chocolate is my favourite sweets. My family and friends know already my weakness and they always give me chocolates especially my hubby. It’s not only me who loves chocolate. Hubby loves it too as much as I love it. Same as him, I always give him chocolate too especially if I want something from him. It’s one of his weaknesses too. So for this coming Valentine’s Day, I will give him a Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels because dark chocolates are good for the health. He loves pretzels too so this is a good combination and I’m sure he will be very happy with this as a gift. And the good thing with this dark chocolate covered pretzel is it is very affordable and it’s not heavy in my pocket as I don’t have work. So this is it. I already have a gift for my hubby for this coming Valentine’s Day. And for you guys, give chocolates to your love ones because I know they will love it too.

EAT LOTS OF FRUITS

As we all know that fruits are good for our health especially if you are in diet. Like me, I’m still in the process of losing weight. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetable. Apple is one of my favourite fruits. We have lots of apple here in Quebec and most of the Quebecoise they make applesauce, apple pie, apple cider and many more. I’m not good in making this kind of stuff since we don’t have lots of apple in Philippines. We can buy apple in Philippines but it is very expensive, not like here that we can buy it in a very affordable price and we can even harvest it in our own backyard. Hubby told me that his mom was a very expert in doing applesauce and apple pie. I really love applesauce and hubby did once but it didn’t take long because he’s not an expert in preserving it. Just recently, we found the right way in canning apples. Life123 show us in their video on how to use canning to preserve food and what the home canning process involves. This is very helpful for me and for you as well who wants to preserve fruits and vegetables by home canning process. With Life123 you will learn a lot and they also have lots of tips on how to preserve foods. I’ve learn a lot with life123 and I already made some applesauce and I kept them in our cold room.

STRAWBERRY BANANA MUFFINS


The photo above was taken by me just a while ago. This is my first time making this kind of muffin. Hubby bought a lot of fresh strawberries from his friend. I don't know what to do with them because we are only 2 in the house and we can't eat them all. I freeze some of them and I kept some in the fridge for strawberry chocolate dip. I found a recipe that I can use strawberries.
